The Balkan lynx, a subspecies of the Eurasian lynx, is one of the most elusive and endangered cats in Europe. With only an estimated 35 to 40 individuals remaining in North Macedonia, this majestic feline is teetering on the brink of extinction. It roams the mountainous regions of Albania, Kosovo, and western North Macedonia, where conservation efforts are crucial to its survival.
